On the Move
Article last updated 09/12/2024
A silvery, art-in-motion sculpture, detailed with Art Deco stampings, honors the evolution of transportation in Asheville, including the city's last remaining brick street ~ North Market. Bumpy rides on brick-covered avenues, cross-town trolley jumps and sleeper cars unloading at the Biltmore station characterized a city on the rise. Spin the wheel to the right and listen to the sounds of changing transportation across the last century. (Designer: Kenn Kotara. Fabricator: Continental Teves, Ed Anderson, plant manager)
